Groups that delete themselves

«Where
are you»

03:47 · 4 % battery · no signal · no reply

You create a circle with an end time, drop the link in the group chat, and you can find each other on the map until it ends. Then it disappears, along with everything inside.

Free Nothing to install 24 hours max

01 The whole life of a one-night circle Saturday

18:00

You create it

A name and how long it lasts: from 4 hours to a full day. Out comes a link.

18:02

They join

You drop the link in the chat. They join with Google, nothing to install.

03:47

You find each other

You ask anyone for their position and their phone answers from their pocket.

06:00

It deletes itself

Time runs out and the circle goes, along with the list of who was in it.

02 How this differs from plain live location sharing

Live location sharing

  • Your dot crawls across the map all night
  • The GPS never stops, and neither does the battery drain
  • It stays switched on weeks after that night
  • You have no idea who looked, or how often

A one-night circle on WhereUBro

  • One position each time someone asks, and that is it
  • A few seconds of GPS to answer. Nothing more
  • It expires by itself: 24 hours at the very most
  • Every request is logged and you can read it

03 What everyone asks

Do I have to install anything?

No, it works in your phone browser. That said, with the app installed the phone answers on its own even while locked, on Android and on iPhone; from a browser you get a notification and have to tap it.

Do they have to see exactly where I am?

No. When you join you pick how much detail you give, and you can change it during the night without telling anyone: exact, the area, or just the city. Nobody in the plan can raise it for you.

What if the link ends up somewhere it should not?

Every circle has a cap on people, and whoever created it can close the door, change the link or remove someone at any point. Even if a stranger slips in, they would only see the position of whoever answers, and only until it ends.

Does it really delete itself?

Yes. When it ends, the circle and the list of who was in it are gone. Nor is there any record of where you moved: only each person's latest position exists, and it keeps being overwritten.

Can I be in several plans?

Yes, and keep your standing circle with family at the same time. It is the same thing with or without an end date, and the map shows who you always see and who is only sharing tonight.

What does it cost?

Nothing. This is not a business, it is a tool.

The festival is this weekend
